Back. Hello, my pets.

Back. Hope you guys missed me.

China was a dream, I got a Topshop coat (it's a size 6, but it's a forest green raincoat and it's gorgeous) lots of unique clothes that you can't find in the States and visited my family. It wasn't at all like Lost In Translation, because I am bilingual. Nope, I'm not bragging, just stating a fact.

I'll update some fashion tips later, but please check out my stories on figment. listed as Ling Mei. Look me up, read my stories, and comment.

Notes to my readers: The fetish trend is actually pretty neat, when you check out the designs. Marc Jacobs gives it a fresh, non-slutty twist to it, while Louis Vuitton used classic materials to design whore-like outfits. But, some pieces really do stand out this season, like the cuff clutch by Louis Vuitton and the trouser leg.

Social Damnation.

Because one day you know you'll be screaming my name.
-Glee Cast, Loser.

Ahh! Panic! is coming to the city I live in. Oh horror. I cannot go. Whoopee, China, thanks for making me miss out on a once in a lifetime chance!

Anyway. Social time! Facebook made, please add me. I accept EVERYONE as long as you're not a registered sex offender. Now what?

I have to say, La Roux is probably the best techno band out there. It's not about getting laid or drinking Grey Goose Vodka until the crack of dawn; it's about life. Panic! at the Disco is the quirkiest little thing out there, and I'm obsessive over them, if you haven't noticed already. I enjoy soft pop, and I recommend The Bird and the Bee, She & Him, Sara Bareilles, ELIZABETH & THE CATAPULT <3, Lily Allen and Mumford & Sons. They're pretty fly and deserve waaay more attention and sales, because the 'music' people listen to these days (Lil Wayne, Wiz Knalif, etc) is usually a bunch of garbage. I make exceptions; Lady Gaga (big little monster right hur.) Katy Perry's first album is genius, but now she's a sellout. Her first album was so retro-cool. Now it's auto-tuned trash and alien sex. Yeah, um, NO! That's all for music...

WAVES! They're making a lil comeback, darlings. But, my hair is straighter than the average man, so I need some suggestions. Then again, I am as delusional as hell, because I know no one reads this. (YET.)

On another note, I hate summer.

Love,
Ling.

Aplogies for an absence.

And the world's like a science and I'm like a secret.
And I saw you lingering still, still.
I saw you lingering still.
-She & Him, Lingering Still.

oh yes, these springtime fashions are still lingering around every street corner. I still see cute pastel blouses and Bohemian skirts and cute wedges where ever I look. Life is a nice set to be on.

Aplogies for an absence. I needed "ME AND ONLY MEEE" time for awhile. I'll tell you about my new fashion endeavours:

So I went to Washington DC and went crazy on shopping. We (family) were supposed to get a visa(s) to go to China this year, but turns out, my forgetful father didn't know we were supposed to have our old passports. Thanks Father, for that lovely insightful language you muttered under your breath while shaking your head.
Anyway...
My i-hate-shopping-with-a-passion mother and I went to J.Crew, where I bought a $10 flower pin (on sale) and cute navy blouse, $24.99, also clearence. Satisfied? OH YEAH. Tysons Corner mall, Vera Bradley store; lunchbox $28. I don't want to be like any other Vera toting girl at my school, but I needed a lunchbox, and the Twirly Birds Navy was cute. Forever 21, $24 ivory lace dress, gorgeous. Picture ASAP. H&M sandales, $13, then.......HAGERSTOWN.
Dood, OUTLET MALL=CHEAP. $14 Ked shoes, $6 Banana Replublic t-shirts, $15 Gap cardigans, $10 J.Crew leather belts and $25 Wilson Leather small backpacks?? WIN.

Tip: Vintage vintage vintage. Oversized dress? BELT. Too big jeans? Cut and suspenders. Also, don't rule out "DISGUSTING" cheapo stores, they usually hold the coolest finds. Gaberiel Brothers (where I live) is an amazing store. Scary on the outside, okay on the inside and SPECTACULAR in the racks. Goodwill can always help :) Remember, fashion isn't all about name brands and sky-high prices, it's about originality and personality.

Welcoming the Spring Pastels.

Spring is a delightful season. It's full of warm chirping birds, sparkling citrus juice and of course, the pastel colors of spring. I cleaned out my closet to find I have dull colored cardigans, but cute flowery, bohemian t-shirts. Spring is a magical fairyland where albino unicorns play along with raging homosexual birds. Summer is when Mr. Sun is on his period and decides to kill the poor albinos' skins, but calls for short shorts and tanks and is the most simplest of seasons. Autumn, Fall, whatever (INDECISIVE!!) but has warm colors and reminds of cinnamon apples dipped in magical strawberry creme chocolate. Winter is season all girls love; NO SHAVING!! :D but seriously it's gloomy weather, but sweaters are classic Miss 50's meets No-Nonsense Modern. Anyway...Spring Musthaves: (general) Quirky cardigans in creamy colors match everything. Almost. BUBBLE SKIRTS <3 amazing. bold patterns to clash with abouve ^ Sheer blouses. Nuff said. Cropped jeans=sophisticated, but tomboy. Sandales, Heavier heels, flats and converse are springy lil devices that help these outfits. Delicate and intricate jewelry are amazing to any outfit. Just saying... I'm in Tennesee (Nashville) for marching band. Love love LOVE the dress Carrie Underwood wore a few years ago I'll upload it next time I'm on :D quirks&birds, Ling <3

Distressful Immune System and Wannabe Fashionistas Plus my future Homecoming

Sick. Again. I curse my weak Chinese immune system. Thank the Lord I have internet, or else I wouldn't have found some STUFF. :)

Gorgeous, huh? Dolce & Gabbana, I found on http://www.boutiques.com/, where I am LEMONGRASS BY LING MEI. ^the above picture is my dream dress for Homecoming. Pairings for this? Bright red 50's lipstick, silver dangle earrings (subtle, but small stars of diamonds) and these lovely Christian Louboutin heels. Probably the only age appropiate pair I found for myself. :]

I know it's an absolutely classic 1950's pin-up girl look, and not very ASIAN (teehee.), but it's me. The price is the dark shadow standing between me and my future Homecoming. (w/o a date!) The dress and shoes are $1,650 and $695, respectively. $2,345 in all from the mathematics part of my brain. I might be able to find similar at Macy's, Nine West or online. My small town sucks balls. :P

^this above it my second choice. I'm in 8th grade and planning my 10th grade homecoming....wow. :] Anyway. Marc by Marc Jacobs, quirky design and flattering for small chested girls such as moi. Much more affordable, $179, but in my parents' eyes, it's still a hefty amount of money.

Now onto wannbe fashionistas. Hollister, I repeat, Hollister is not 'amazinnnggg!!' fashion. Aero is not "so freakin' ca-yuttte!!" These are walking billboards, consuming money for their own gain. I do not, will not, plan not to shop there. I repeat, Hollister is not expressing your fashion style. Same styles of clothing in different colors, same Uggs in different colors=barf, puke, gag. I hate Uggs with a ever-burning passion.
All for now.

The Ballad of Mirror Limes, or My Self-Image.

Definition of Mirror Limes; The sour, deformed self that stares back at you with a frown. Based on 'The Ballad of Mona Lisa" by Panic! at the Disco, of whom I adore greatly. Vocabulary Word of the day; learn it, memorize it, use it.

My self-image problem; HAHA, I'm Asian, I CANNOT be "American" pretty. Apparently I'm cute and pretty, but not enough so for people to stop teasing me. Thank you for the lovely critique, next time you say something to me, I'll rip your balls out.

Useful comebacks;
"Okay. Mhm. Surrre." *pretending to listen to someone.* best if you're rustling through papers or something.

person: "Ew, that is REALLY ugly. Why the hell would you have that?"
you: "You mean your face?"

Fashion tip of the DAY.
Blue eyeshadow RARELY looks good on people. You can turn out as an Avatar extra or stunning sea creature. Not good on pale or fair skinned, DEFINITELY bad on bamboo and darker skin tones. If it is a solid blue, it'll be a Alien like beauty if on darker skin tones (Africans, etc) Don't slather on blue eyeshadow all the way up to your eyebrow. Make it on your eyelid, so it's a very subtle touch to your outfit.

Ling.
